The recipient of a black belt in her sixties,
Barbara of Rhinelander, WI took up martial arts for the first time
at 59. And now, as an assistant to her master instructor, she’s
taking her passion one step further—encouraging others to punch,
kick and uncover a talent of their own!
“Seeing the smiles on their faces as they are promoted to a
new belt level is so rewarding,” says Barbara of her karate
students.
Still working hard to continually improve her own skills, Barbara
plans to use her $5,000 prize to help pay for the martial arts classes
she attends twice a week. “I am so very excited!”
says Barbara of her win, “This announcement came on the day
I was promoted to second-degree black belt and I was able to announce
to my master instructor and students that I was the Grand Prize Winner!
They were all cheering for me to win!”
Good
going, Barbara! Thank you for reminding us that it’s never
too late to discover a new passion. |
